Help us protect Sand Creek and put development decisions in the hands of Antioch voters. We are hiring people to gather signatures from registered voters in Antioch now for a ballot measure called Let Antioch Voters Decide: The Sand Creek Area Protection Initiative.
Our coalition, Antioch Community to Save Sand Creek, is working to give Antioch residents a vote on each big project being proposed in the Sand Creek area, the undeveloped part of the Lone Tree Valley near Kaiser. The City Council is considering 4,000 to 8,000 housing units there without a vote of the people. Help us change that and earn money while you do it.
We are looking for part-time, temporary help, flexible schedule, through late May to gather signatures from registered Antioch voters. This is a fun and easy petition! It’s an amazing opportunity to help out with a great cause. You will not be selling anything or be making phone calls. You will staff signature gathering locations and ask registered voters living in Antioch to sign the petition to get the measure on the November ballot- democracy in action.
Ideal candidates are friendly and outgoing. If you have a love of open space, democracy or both and are looking for a temporary way to make a difference this job is for you.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally able to work in the United States
- Must be available to work between 12-20 hours per week (hours are flexible)
- Must be able to walk an extended period while carrying up to 15lbs
Compensation:
Compensation is based on each Antioch resident signature at $3.00 per signature plus a $500 bonus each time you collect 500 Antioch registered voter signatures ($500 for first 500, another $500 for next 500, etc.). This excludes duplicate signatures (those that have already signed the petition).
